Along your journey there will be times where what you stand for might not hold true within a particular context and even at different stages of your life. At times like these, you can exercise your freedom of choice between what you hold to be true, against what others might put forward as an alternative.

By accepting that at times we can be wrong and are mature enough to say: “I’m sorry.  You have got it right”, this will only strengthen who you “really “are.

Ultimately all that we have are points of views based on what we stand for and believe in.  And contrary to what many people believe, the truth is not black and white but shades of grey.

The essence of a raw diamond is always a diamond even in its unpolished form.

Likewise a top athlete, or a top stateswoman, or a high flying executive in essence were always human and just fine as they were even before raising to the dizzying heights of their careers. They simply acquired skills and polished who they were in order to play at the top of their game.  But in essence they had everything they needed to start playing the game.

If you want to fly a helicopter and not yet learnt the skill, this fact alone does not make you imperfect as a human being.  Your power to love; forgive and share, among other human attributes, does not diminish simply because you do not know how to fly a helicopter.  It is simply a skill required for you to become more mobile or satisfy your passion, full stop. It is not a measure of your self-worth.

Commitment

“Until one is committed, there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back. Concerning all acts of initiative (and creation), there is one elementary truth, the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then Providence moves too. All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one’s favor all manner of unforeseen incidents and meetings and material assistance, which no man could have dreamed would have come his way.”

Epitaph

Why did I decide to name my first post the EPITAPH?

You might be wondering, isn’t that a bit ominous for the first post?

Well, the truth is, that I don’t know how to best impress upon you that your time, no matter how young or old you are, on this earth is nothing else but limited. You should seize the moment, and proceed with committing towards achieving the goals that you set out to accomplish, otherwise you will end up departing with many unfulfilled goals.

And it does not have to be that way.
